Welcome to the website of Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.  We are happy you wish to learn more about Gamma Omega.  Chartered December 2, 1920, we are the third oldest graduate chapter in this great sisterhood, with a membership of over two hundred college trained women throughout the St. Louis area.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority was founded in 1908 by Ethel Hedgeman Lyle, a native of St. Louis.  One of its main purposes is service to all mankind, and Gamma Omega upholds this through the implementation of the sorority’s current international program of Economics, Sisterhood, and Partnership.  Chapter members focus on service in the areas of the Non-Traditional Entrepreneur, the Economic Keys to Success, the Economic Growth of the Black Family, and Health Resource Management and Economics.  These platforms are implemented at various schools, churches, or community agencies via workshops, forums, fairs, or service in collaboration /partnership with agencies and organizations.

Through this website, you have the opportunity to learn of Gamma Omega’s rich heritage, its programs of service, and current member activities within the community.

Sincerely in Service,
Leonor Buchanan
